New Passenger Platform Construction – Wyndham Vale Station, Australia

Project Overview:
While working with J.C. Gracomm International B.V., Netherlands, Mr. Amit Kumar was assigned as a key member of the civil execution team for constructing a new passenger platform at Wyndham Vale Railway Station, located near Manor Lakes in Victoria, Australia.

This project was part of the regional rail upgrade program, aiming to decongest Melbourne’s outer-west corridors and enhance commuter experience.

Scope of Work:

  • Earthwork, excavation & pile foundation for new side platform
  • RCC platform slab casting with integrated stormwater drainage system
  • Anti-skid tactile tiles and accessible ramp installation as per Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport (DSAPT)
  • Shelter base structures, seating foundations, fencing & pedestrian pathway alignment
  • Lighting pole foundation & conduit routing for future electrification

Key Achievements:

  • Platform length: 170 meters, constructed in active railway zone with minimal service interruption
  • Coordinated with local Australian engineers and site safety teams for 24×7 time-shift execution
  • Maintained high safety standards — Zero LTI and full environmental compliance

Highlight:
The Wyndham Vale platform was delivered 3 weeks ahead of schedule, receiving appreciation from local transport officials for clean construction, safety. practices, and passenger-first approach.
